Solid PVC Sheet FOAMALUX XTRA
It is lightweight, so is easily handled, and has reduced structural support requirements. Brett Martin has specifically manufactured the sheet in a standard size of 2440mm x 1220mm to suit standard batten centers of 600mm. It can be fixed using adhesives, screws or extrusion sections: thermal movement must be accommodated. Foamalux Xtra has Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame classification. Whilst the outer skins are Foamalux, it has a harder surface than standard foam PVC sheet, making it ideal for use in many internal cladding applications. The smooth impervious surface finish prevents dirt becoming ingrained and does not support fungal growth, making it a viable option for cladding in wet areas such as leisure and sports centre shower and changing facilities. Foamalux Xtra can be used where operating environmental temperatures range from -20°C to +60°C. It also has excellent resistance to most common cleaning chemicals. This combination of properties enables its use in aggressive environments as diverse as chilled and refrigeration areas to milking parlors. It can easily be cleaned by pressure washing. Foamalux Xtra can be cut and routed into complex shapes using standard workshop equipment. Since the surface skins are of high quality Foamalux, they provide a superior finish for the application of graphics and as a print substrate. GLASBORD® HYGENIC WALL & CEILING CLADDING Glasbord® FRP (fibreglass reinforced plastic) is a low maintenance, hygienic wall and ceiling cladding sheet with patented Surfaseal® surface finish. Proven to be up to 10 times easier to clean and around 6 times more stain resistant than other FRP sheets, Glasbord has long been regarded as one of the world's leading brands. Read more on the Glasbord page. POLYPROPYLENE SHEET Polypropylene is a very tough durable product that can be used in environments down to -40°C. It will withstand repeated steam cleaning, resist attack from most chemicals, and is non-toxic. It has little or no moisture absorbsion and low friction. The main drawback is it's fire performance which is only Class 4 to BS476 Part 7 flammability. Polypropylene is normally mechanically fixed by means of plastic drive rivets (see below). White polypropylene sheet is available in two sizes; 2440 x 1220 x 3mm, and 3050 x 1220 x 3mm. Contact the Sales Office for further information. SOLID PVC SHEET Solid PVC sheet is stiff and strong and has good impact strength, low moisture absorbtion and has an excellent flammability performance to BS476 Part 7 of Class 1. It performs well against salt solutions, acids and alkalis. The main drawback is restricted service temperature range. Below freezing point PVC becomes brittle and at the upper end should not really exceed 55°C. In conjunction with the fixing profiles outlined below, most solvent adhesive systems work well with PVC but testing is always advised. FOAMALUX PVC Many characteristics of Solid PVC apply to Foam PVC. Although not possessing the very high impact strength of solid PVC, Foamalux is nonetheless tough, rigid and durable. Foam PVC refers to the closed cell structure and is in no way 'spongy'. The surface finish of ULTRA Gloss is a superbly smooth high gloss white and is, therefore, a very strong recommendation over standard semi-gloss sheets. Flammability performance is the same as for solid PVC. Fomalux Standard White PVC Sheet is available in two sizes; 2440 x 1220 x 3mm and 3050 x 1220 x 3mm.
